Being disabled is not inability

The World Bank (WB) and the other development agencies suggested that a large portion of the GDP should be budgeted for education, health and social infrastructures to develop the nation especially the manpower.Based on the foregoing, there is the need for the empowerment of the physically handicapped citizens, regardless of the gender, age, status, educational attainment, social affiliations and interests. The book shall espouse how the physically challenged can borrow leaf from the saner climes where the physically challenged citizens are employers of labour and wealth creators'. Author Amusa Abdulateefbelieves that 'all able body persons are potential disabled by preventable accidents, causes of depression and avoidable epidemics'. Therefore, preparing the minds of the persons living with disabilities is preparing for all.In retrospect, all the physically challenged have natural talents and skills that can be converted into wealth and gainfully employ themselves and others as the likes across the world. Author used right personalities and illustrations to espouse the right motivation to empower the PLWDs. The content of the book espoused how they can discover themselves and break out of their shell to tap the natural gifted knowledge and the available facilities to be socially and economically independent.Author Amusa Abdulateef is of the standpoint that 'there is no disability in disability but capability in disability'. The book is written in a very lucid English language for general readers.
