Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europa - Deutschland - Neuere Geschichte, Note: 1,7, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Veranstaltung: Neuere Geschichte: Proseminar "Die Reformation"", Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Als Adam grub und Eva spann, wo war denn da der Edelmann? Diese volkstümliche Losung aus dem englischen Bauernkrieg von 1383 drang Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts in die Deutschen Lande. In jenen Jahren war eine Gesellschaft auseinandergebrochen. Die Gründe waren vielschichtig und griffen oft auch noch ineinander. "[...] Die Grundherren hatten sich in ihrer politisch und wirtschaftlichen Lage gezwungen gesehen, den Druck an ihre Hintersassen weiterzugeben, und verschärften die politische, rechtliche und wirtschaftliche Situation der Bauern stark[...]" (Goertz 1989). Der Deutsche Bauernkrieg, eigentlich müsste es ja - die Deutschen Bauernkriege - heißen, denn sie waren eine Aneinanderreihung mehrerer kleinerer, von Bauern, aber auch von Handwerkern sowie Bergknappen, getragener, regionaler Aufstände. Vorwiegend fanden diese in Süd- bzw. Südwestdeutschem Raum statt. Die Ereignisse um den "Deutschen Bauernkrieg" in einen direkten Zusammenhang mit Luthers Thesenanschlag und der damit eigeleiteten Kirchenreform zu bringen, ist nur bedingt richtig. Martin Luther verstand seine "Reformation" ausschließlich als eine Erneuerung der Kirche. Er stellte zu keiner Zeit die weltliche Ordnung in Frage. Deshalb wendet sich Martin Luther auch ganz energisch gegen die aufflammende Bauernkriegsbewegung. Er greift dabei einen der Führer dieser Bewegung, Thomas Müntzer, in mehreren Schriften, wie z.B. den Brief an die Fürsten zu Sachsen im Juli 1524 mit dem Titel "Wider den aufrührerischen Geist" an. Die Bauern jedoch, die nicht alle zu den ärmsten der damaligen Gesellschaft zählten und durchaus mehr als ihr Leben zu verlieren hatten, griffen eben nicht zu ihren Dreschflegeln und benutzen sie als Waffen, um einer Erneuerung der Kirche Nachdr
