"BEYOND BELIEF"... is the second novel in the series of six, based on the SUMMER ADVENTURES OF MAGGIE SUE AND TERRY D. BEYOND BELIEF takes six-year-old Terry D and eleven-year-old Maggie Sue back to Happy Valley, Mississippi, to spend their summer vacation with their grandmother, whom they lovingly call mama. Both were anxious to start their first day of adventures. The two children were so excited and had no idea, on that scorching summer day in the year of 1948, they would be facing death! The Cherokee-Indian-Spirit of their Grandfather Charlie had told them, it would be the best summer vacation ...ever! The two children heard the dreaded Potete brothers threaten Mr. Joe, "The Watermelon Man." Mr. Joe could die when Rufus Potete strings him up in the local cemetery. All are at risk as a dangerous tornado-like windstorm, with massive-lightning strikes and deafening thunder, threatens anything or anyone in its path. All are in peril from the sawed-off shotgun of Rufus Potete. Mr. Potete comes on the scene with his well-known bullwhip. Both are ready to do great harm. But...the Potetes are no match for Mr. Joe, Maggie Sue, Terry D, Dave, Bobby, and the faithful hounds belonging to the grandmother of Maggie Sue and Terry D. The... Great Indian Spirit of their Grandfather Charlie...deceased, is always with Maggie Sue and Terry D. The two children are aware they also have their Father in Heaven to guide them. They feel comfort in knowing they have two protectors at all times. On the first day of their summer vacation, without their protectors, dear friends, and pets, they would not be having another day of vacation now or ever. The finale brings Andrew Tracy Davis, Marine Sergeant brother of Maggie Sue and Terry D, to Happy Valley for a visit with his sister, brother, and grandmother. The reunion between...The Watermelon Man and Sergeant Davis is BEYOND BELIEF...!! WHAT A SURPRISE!! All does climax in an acceptable and happy manner for the young reader and family to enjoy. If the reader missed out on the first novel, based on THE SUMMER ADVENTURES OF MAGGIE SUE AND TERRY D. It is well worth the read! "THE GULLY"... was off limits to anyone or anything! But, on that rainy summer day in 1947, six children were willing to place their lives in danger for the love of a pet! The old timers warned over and over. Do not go into ...THE GULLY... or the lower ridge! In years past, hangings occurred on the high ridge above the montrous hole. Death would come; the rope would be cut, and the bodies would disappear into the belly of the gully! The six youngsters were aware of all the dreadful stories of the gully. Did they hesitate to enter the gully? Yes...but, their tomcat friend, Cat, needed their help. They were taught, one does not forsake a friend. Experience extreme love and bravery, among the youngsters, as you travel with them into...THE GULLY...!! About the Author: PEGGY INEZ spent most of her young years in dance, baton, & acrobatic classes, offered in recreational facilities. As a young adult she went on to advanced classes to better prepare herself to become a well-known Baton & Dance, Registered Instructor & Judge with NBTA. She also taught Ballet & Tap under the SDO rules and regulations. Throughout her years she was most fortunate to work with many City, County, State, National, and one World-Open-Champion in the Art of Baton/Twirling. She graduated from Clinton High School, in Clinton, Mississippi She attended Indian River Community College, in Fort Pierce, Florida. After 40 years of teaching the performing arts, when retiring, it was only natural she would choose to create happy and exciting fictional stories for the young reader and family reading enjoyment. She draws from her childhood memories of her summer vacations during the 40's and 50's in Mississippi. In those years the ...DEEP SOUTH...was an extraordinary, mythical, inspirational cross-section of America. It was difficult in some ways, soft in others, and magical at times! Since retiring, Peggy Inez lives with her husband, Rob, Sr., during the summer months in the beautiful mountains of north Georgia. In the winter they travel to their east-coast home in Florida. For years, she, her husband, and their son, Rob, Jr., owned and edited three "International-Ham-Radio-Newsletters, for the Kenwood, Icom, & Yaesu operators. Rob, Sr., (N8RT), Peggy Inez, (KB4LRD), & Rob, Jr., (KB4JMQ), are all government-licensed-amateur-radio-operators. Peggy Inez owned & edited a little-known magazine called...The Twirlers Friend...for several years. She did offer and had published many articles in various newspapers in reference to champion twirlers and dancers that she had the privilege to work with. She feels all the before-mentioned writing procedures she encountered throughout the years; better prepared her for the dream of... upon retirement...becoming an author.
