Soft pencils are best for colouring. The dark grey areas should be shaded using dark colours, and light grey areas with light colours. Subtle transitions from light to dark are achieved by using medium hues. Areas already coloured using dark shades can be retouched and brightened with light colours.
The back of each full-page photograph has been kept free, so you can cut out, frame and hang each of your creations.

About the Author: Alexandra Dannenmann was born in Stuttgart, and is married with one son. She started out in the world of fashion, but moved into illustration and writing in 1997.
Alexandra has now written and illustrated over 20 children's books, and has published 4 novels.
However, her true passion lies in illustrating colouring books. Her second colouring book "The Secret of the Sea" has recently been published as a follow-up to "The Secret of the Forest." It is another magical colouring book with 45 richly detailed hand-drawn illustrations, sweeping readers into an extraordinary underwater world complete with many weird and wonderful inhabitants.
Alexandra is currently working on her fifth colouring book.
