About the Book

This book contains about 50 selected poems and song lyrics from a lifetime collection of writings by the author, Kent Gunnison. You will find a wide range of topics within these pages. Many contain serious, thought-provoking insights to life in general. Many are based upon the spiritual relationship we can have with God through prayer. There are some that simply examine the true meaning of a relationship between two or more people. And, there are others that are guaranteed to bring about a chuckle in the heart of the reader.
About the Author: Kent Gunnison grew up in the northwest United States. He attended Western Washington University and graduated with a Masters degree in Education. He taught high school for twelve years before going into both television and radio broadcasting. He spent roughly eighteen years in Christian service, part of which was managing and engineering a Christian broadcast station. He spent three years as the chief administrator of a boarding school for troubled teen-age boys. From there he returned to teaching computer principles in a career school. He spent a short time doing technical support for Microsoft, but found that sitting all day in a small cubical just was not a suitable occupation. As he approached retirement age he spent four years working in the hardware department of his local Wal-Mart store. Besides writing poetry and songs he has authored two previous books. The first was published by a local school district. Unfortunately it was poorly timed: "How To Use The Slide rule" was written just months before the first four-function calculators became available. The second book was his autobiography, written when he turned sixty-years-old. He lovingly titled that book, "Being A Ten-Year-Old Six Times." That title probably gives the best description of how Kent Gunnison has spent most of his days on this earth.
