About the Book

The Black Venus won best fiction at the Pinnacle Awards in 2013. The story starts in the Balkans on a cold and rainy morning. Anna sets off for the market to buy the daily food for her and her husband Goren, little knowing that the events of the day would lead to her family seeking revenge many years later in the leafy lanes of Southern England. The Black Venus is really two stories in one and starts with terrorists detonating a car bomb in a town's market place, at the time unbeknown to them they were seen carrying out their grisly work by a girl in her teens who they need to find. Anna's relatives after years of searching find the men responsible for the hurt inflicted on their family and plan a terrible revenge. Meanwhile Chief Inspector Dergon is a frustrated man in his hunt for the men who destroyed the town square, he has information that they are planning another atrocity, but where, will he have time to stop it? The reader will find out by the very surprising end.
About the Author: Percy's first book was published in hard back in the early eighties, since then he has gone on to write eight more full length novels, including his autobiography detailing as a child the horrors and the terror of being bombed in East London during the Second World War, the title 'Blitz & Pieces' which was voted best in its class at the Summer 2013 Pinnacle Awards. At the same awards, and for the first time it had been accomplished, he also won best Thriller with 'Politically Incorrect' - this was the first time in 29 years one author has won two awards in one session. Percy retired from his architectural practice in Bristol and moved to Spain with his wife Jean in the year 2000, where, besides writing at least three hours every morning they run a holiday home - for visitors to the real Spain in the mountains of the Costa Blanca, where readers of his work are always welcome. Percy is now starting on another novel set in the early fifties which should be available in the spring of 2014. percy@fuentelargo.com www.percychatteybooks.com
