About the Book

Murder and mayhem should not be part of a twelve-year-old girl's life, but that's exactly what happens when a fifty-thousand-dollar orchid disappears, and B.A.'Wolfgang' Fenstemier, courtroom sketch artist turned part-time investigator, is asked to recover the missing plant. Wolfgang thinks it's a joke when he's asked to find a single missing plant, but he changes his mind when a dead body turns up at the school young Ashleigh Green attends. Except for believing she's jinxed, Ashleigh's a typical twelve-year-old, who just happens to be a child prodigy when it comes to riding horses. When Wolfgang learns the recovery of the orchid could help pay Ashleigh's way to the Olympic trials, he accepts the challenge. His search for the black orchid leads PC challenged Wolfgang and friends through the seamy side of Georgia politics to dark, dank mine shafts in north Georgia. Wolfgang learns the hard way, what pure evil desire for political power can exert. His opponents learn that Wolfgang isn't afraid to double down.
About the Author: After four years as a double art major at East Carolina University, Ray Harrison enjoyed a career in advertising. He went from spending non-work weekends playing golf, to road racing with the Sports Car Club of America. Ray enjoyed the excitement and challenges of advertising but left the agency business to design and develop new products for a manufacturing client. One day this character started pestering him. Every day he would show up, demanding attention, and finally Ray gave in and started his first novel. The result is Blood on the Orchid. The orchid influence came from an old agency client who was an avid orchid grower. These days for excitement Ray takes to the air with a friend in his open cockpit biplane to do loops, spins, rolls and hammerheads. Simple aerobatics. For relaxation, he flies the coast in his Mooney, taking family, friends and/or his golf clubs. Ray's working on his second novel, National Poison. He resides in beautiful Savannah, Ga., with his herbalist wife Barbara.
