About the Author: Dr. Victoria Boyd extensive experience includes that of educator, nonprofit leader, author, trainer, administrator, and advocate throughout the country. Concurrent to teaching she was actively involved in the nonprofit sector as founder, board member, president, and interim executive director. As an educator she provided extraordinary opportunities for her students taking then across the United States and to places such as England, Scotland, and France. She was awarded the National Educator of the Year by the National Dance Association, Educator of the Year by Michigan and Midwest District of the American Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, the Golden Apple Award by Wayne County Regional Educational Service Agency (Wayne RESA), recognized in Who's Who in America's Teachers, Wayne State University's Arts Achievement Award and ArtServe Michigan's Advocate of the Year. An award that she is most proud to receive was the Fulbright Memorial Teacher Award where she studied the educational system in Japan for an extended period. She shares her expertise as an instructor at UNLV and as a prolific trainer. She is proud to be recognized as 2014 Nevada Distinguished Men and Women; 2015 NAWBO Women of Distinction; 2015 LVBMN Entrepreneur Achievement Award, and 2016 and 2017 MyVegas Magazine recognition as a Top 100 Most Influential Women. Linda Lysakowski, ACFRE, worldwide is one of slightly more than one hundred professionals to hold the Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive designation. She has managed capital campaigns; helped dozens of nonprofit organizations achieve their development goals, and has trained more than 37,000 professionals in Mexico, Canada, Egypt, Bermuda, and most of the fifty United States. A graduate of Alvernia University in Reading, PA with majors in Banking and Finance; Communications; and Theology/Philosophy, she is a graduate of AFP's Faculty Training Academy. As a prolific writer she has written or contributed to more than a dozen books. She serves as Acquisitions Editor for CharityChannel Press and For the GENIUS Press. Linda has received the Outstanding Fundraising Executive award from the Eastern PA, Las Vegas, and Sierra (NV) chapters of AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) was recognized internationally with the Barbara Marion Award for Outstanding Service to AFP. She was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Las Vegas Chapter of AFP in November 2015.
