About the Book

When five children - three brothers and two sisters - huddle together at home to wait out a thunderstorm, they have no idea that they are about to experience a magical, sometimes frightening, but always spiritual journey into the distant past. The world they find themselves is full of fantastical creatures such as evil locusts, stubborn mules, giant caterpillars and cherubs. As they go on a journey, they witness the miraculous influence of 'Jaycee' and realise the importance of following his actions and how to apply them to their own lives. The Book of Mirrors is a wonderful tale in the tradition of C. S. Lewis' Narnia and J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter which can be read as much for the pleasure of the story itself as for the allegorical meaning behind it.
About the Author: Penny was blessed with a happy childhood with her older brother and younger sister. Their home was filled with love and laughter, whilst living in both England and South Africa. Sadly, she had to leave school at 15 years to support her family, due to her father illness. She married and has two children, Jane and Martin. Penny's adult life was tough, but through the years she persevered starting many businesses, mainly in property development. Whilst living in Spain Penny experienced a chance meeting with someone who changed her life. She was invited to a New Year's Eve party on a private yacht in Purto Banus, Costa del Sol. After admiring the owners boat he told her, "If God says I can have it, I will. If he says I can't, I won't." Her ensuing discussions with him that evening changed her life. She never saw him again. No one else seemed to know him? In 2004 she met Keith, a retired Royal Naval officer, in Normandy, France, where she now lives. They married in France in 2006. He became her rock. On the 10th June 2007 Penny experienced a call from God. He told her, "You will be used." Stunned Penny argued, "Why now? It's too late, I'm too old." Yet she understood that she would have to study theology and achieve a degree! Impossible, as she had never studied academically. Nine years later, Penny is in her final months for a BA at the London school of Theology and Middlesex university - by distant learning. During the last three years she began writing her allegorical book, The Seven Signs of John, written in three levels, for children, adults and the wise. This is the first book in a series of The Book of Mirrors.
