102 pages, 62 black & white illustrations, size 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Originally published under the similar title, The Book of the New Imperial by W.C. Haycraft. This book is one of The Motorcyclist's Library series published in the USA by Floyd Clymer by arrangement with the original publishers, Pitman Ltd. of London, England.
This re-print of the revised 1950 sixth edition includes repair, maintenance and overhaul information for all S.V. and O.H.V. New Imperial motorcycles manufactured from 1935 onwards. Includes 150cc Models 23, 25 & 27, 250cc Models 30, 35, 36, 37, 50 & 90, 350cc Models 40, 45, 46, 47, 49, 50, 60, 100 & F10, 500cc Models 70, 76, 80 (S.V.), 110 & F11, 550cc Model 80 (S.V.). Unfortunately, New Imperial had been plagued with financial issues following the 1938 death of its founder Norman Downes and by 1939 New Imperial motorcycles were part of British motorcycle history.
The entire content of this publication is devoted to the maintenance, overhaul and adjustment of all the major mechanical and electrical components. Consequently, there is adequate detailed text and diagrams to assist in major refurbishing such as an engine rebuild or even a complete renovation.
Out-of-print and unavailable for many years, this book is becoming increasingly more difficult to find on the secondary market and we are pleased to be able to offer this reproduction as a service to all New Imperial owners, restorers and enthusiasts worldwide.
