About the Book

Fifty four poems all written in my homes speaking about my life; the strife, the missed wife, the ambivalence describing my ups and downs; me messing around, being a clown. All done with a lot of fun but with some meaning. They're gleaming with heart and that's a good start when you choose who to lose your sense of time with. This is no myth, all are organic put together by a word mechanic who likes to rhyme because that's never been a crime. At least not in my time and place so put your face into my book. Give my poems a good look and pay so you won't be a crook!
About the Author: I'm Dave Sweeney aka "Gold". Let it be told that I was bold and rode to L.A. one day from a small town in upstate New York. I landed in the City of Angels and negotiated my angles as I developed by acting and writing and not fighting anyone but myself. I overcame the voice of a little elf inside my head which led me to New York City instead; the Big Apple where over the past 20 years I've overcome additional fears often by creating what I've been feeling not by looking at the ceiling but by writing; typing, word processing and now keyboarding. All along the way I've been hoarding thoughts and ideas for the gallerias of people who enjoy my steeple of thoughts and aughts brought about by words. I'm not into chronicling the Kurd but often hit on the absurdity of life; like the fictional Barney Fife, I deal with my strife by creating poems and giving them life. What do you say? I can also write a mean play, many of which are just a finger twitch away. Check them out, they also carry a lot of clout. Type in my name on Amazon Books and you'll get some good looks. About 27 total but they are mostly combined so you'll get two sometimes three for one. A great deal, practically a steal! There's no "8 Man Out" but you'll never hear me pout without a stout defense or beer. Here, Here! I can be redundant with one or two pundits but if it fits it behooves you to sit and read and requite me of being a literary thieve. All of my stuff is original and if there's a marginal reference to a person, time just remember that's my ace in order to take you to the place I desire. Not "Under The Elms" nor about Jessie Helms. I like to entertain, amuse, give you an excuse to be who you like to abuse. Then you develop empathy if not sympathy which is not bad. Listen to me and deal with your catastrophes. We all have them and with me you get to share with no fear. There's no blare but beware; I really do care and I am very clear and concise about what I think. So let me take you to the brink in this cloud rink and never let the stink of someone else's life cause you strife. We're in this together about the weather and all within it. I've created poems and plays that deal with this. I look forward to the future, you can be my suture and incise my work nice but don't be an overbearing jerk! Remember we're all in this together. There are universal truths often seen in the form of my literary goofs. They'll bring down your roofs; my spoofs will. So take a chill pill and enjoy the thrill!
