About the Book

The Bow Wow and Meow Campaign, the seventh in the Barbourville Series, is also a read-alone book. Following is a short description:

Casey Trent is on the fast track as associate manager for an upscale department store in the city. Josh Preston is owner of a rundown farm in the country outside Barbourville, Tennessee. Casey is known as an up-and-comer; Josh, who takes in abandoned animals, is known as the cat-and-dog man.

Casey figures they have nothing in common, but when Josh tries to interest the citizens of Barbourville in building an animal shelter, Casey offers to help. The town can't afford to support the center, so she suggests that she and Josh collaborate to raise funds for an endowment. Thus is born The Bow Wow and Meow Campaign.

As they work together to plan their campaign, Casey begins to realize that there are depths to Josh she hadn't previously suspected, but nothing has prepared her to learn the full truth about his past. Once she does, can she find a way to forgive him, or is their tenuous relationship doomed to fade away?

The Barbourville Series in order of publication is as follows:

A Summer Sentence, Falling for Dallas, Dealing with Denver, Dreaming of Dayton, The Forgotten Christmas Tree, At Home in Barbourville, The Bow Wow and Meow Campaign.

All of the books in the Barbourville series are traditional (sweet) romances set in the fictional small mountain town of Barbourville, Tennessee. Each can be read alone, but some people report that they enjoy reading the series in order of publication.

Some of the books in the Barbourville series have been honored by readers in prestigious contests such as the HOLT Medallion, sponsored by the Virginia Romance Writers and selected by readers from across the United States. The Forgotten Christmas Tree took first place in the contemporary category of the HOLT Medallion contest in 2014. Others in the series that have won or finaled in contests judged by readers include A Summer Sentence, Falling for Dallas, and Dealing with Denver.

About the Author: When Carolynn Carey first wrote A Summer Sentence, she had no idea it would become the first book in a series. However, she soon discovered that some of the secondary characters in A Summer Sentence were demanding their own stories, so the Barbourville series was born and flourished. The Bow Wow and Meow Campaign is the seventh and the most recent in the series but certainly not the last. Stay tuned.
