About the Book

The Boy from Peru follows the tale of a ten-year-old who is taken out of an idyllic lifestyle living in his country of birth in Lima, Peru, to attend a public boarding school eight thousand miles away in a country that has a totally different culture. It depicts his experiences and adventures as he rebels against his parent's decision to give him a better education. This book is is based on actual experiences of the author and some events have been slightly embellished for the enjoyment of the reader.
About the Author: Chris Dale was born in January 1954 in Lima, Peru. He came to the UK in 1964 for a private school education, and spent five years at Dean Close School in Cheltenham, and finished his education in France. He built his life skills and experience through a varied career in aviation, the travel business, then got into sales and marketing with major Food & Brewery companies, and latterly as a Buying Director for a major retail & wholesale buying group. In 2004 he set up his own Management Consultancy business in the food and alcohol markets. At the same time, and as an aviation nut and a private pilot, he also set up The POM Flying Club at Humberside Airport. In July 2014 Chris suffered a major stroke which forced an early semi-retirement. He now does some voluntary work and runs his beloved flying school. He is very happily married and has 3 grown up daughters from his previous marriage. He discovered the joy of writing following a challenge from two very good friends, who encouraged him to use his knowledge and experiences to write a book. His first fiction book Crimson Love has just been published; as has his second book an autobiography covering his experiences before, during and after his stroke. It's titled "My Stroke - Just get on with it" and it details his battle to recover from his illness. His third book is now published, "The Lottery - be careful what you wish for," and his fourth book is just about to be published based on his early life experiences from an eight-year-old to fifteen-year-old school boy; "The Boy from Peru". He is now writing his fifth book "The Bentley Regatta" and two more are already planned after this.
