About the Book

A father gets the opportunity to receive a puppy when his Uncle Troy calls who raises champion short haired German Bird Dogs. His champion Frank won the State Championship for Missouri and Kansas in the same year, 1947, had a litter of thirteen puppies in the spring of 1948. The story dad told us was, he arrived at the kennel and the puppy were busy feeding and he stood there trying make up his mind which puppy to choose, suddenly a puppy started crawling towards him and then got up and stagger over to him. when he looked down he saw a beautiful white and beige color with the number eleven on top of his handsome head. Dad reached down and pick up the happy puppy and that's when he saw the puppy was fully haired around his eyes and mouth, no bare skin showing, making him absolutely beautiful. Being a sergeant in the Marines during WW-II in the Pacific, he probably played his share of craps, "Seven come Eleven" and said, "I'll take this one." When Floyd A. Garrison walked in with a puppy in his arms, Christmas came early for his two sons, Tom (9) and Ron (8). When the puppy was on the floor he ran over to the two boys and got a lot of loving. Because of the fancy name on the AKC papers his sons simply called the puppy, Boy, who turned out to be a caring, loving wonderful animal. it was obviously Boy wanted please and be loved on. That's why he learned his tricks and obedience quickly and dad always had a treat for his wonderful, Boy. Boy was six mouths old, when we had a visitor. Uncle Troy came to see dad, and later we found out Boy was the pick of the litter, and Uncle Troy wanted to buy him back. Of course, dad told him no, thank goodness. Next, after his training, Boy became an excellent hunting dog, and again, making dad very proud of him. During the next eight years you will read about a very smart dog, a protector referee for his two young masters. You'll read about a very smart dog learning how to climb out of dog pen wire fence. Learning the hard way about streets and traffic. Then ten episodes about Boy doing his job as a caring, loving animal. Read about Boy's encounter with the Bobcat, a mad Doberman Pincher, a mad German Shepard, protecting his two young masters. Then his bout with Pete, the Parakeet, and the ugliest Bulldog, ever. Bags being packed for a trip to Springfield, Missouri from Parsons, Kansas for Christmas at grandma's house and Boy sitting on the trunk of the De Soto ready to go. Next, because of his experience with traffic, Boy saved a two-year-old girl from being run love in Parsons, Kansas. Don't miss the $2,000.00 hunting story, and how Tom and Boy got even with the great white hunter. Finally, Boy babysitting with Tom who had the Fu. Then the sad epilogue.
