About the Book

"On Earth, before writhing and printing, there was always poetry"... (Pablo Neruda, Chile) Every human being has a talent, a hidden art. We need to reach deep inside us and discover it, so that we can find a conduit through which we can express our individual and unique way of thinking and perceiving the world that surround us. Through writing of any genre, the writer gives birth to his self-expression, bringing to light stories that come from his wealth of experiences; including the ones he was taught, according to the stereotypical rules and regulations of a bland society, and those learned by living them on his own. As a storyteller, I yearn to convey positive values and messages of harmony through my writings. To me, the fictional characters created by a writer are like laboratories of the human soul where the art of storytelling, in conjunction with the metaphors of poetry, create an intercultural environment in which the characters live. This Collection of short stories and poems, narrated here with a mixture of nativism, naturalism and romance written in a humorous manner, glimpse into the life experience of the writer; starting when he finished his studies until he left his homeland to embark in a new journey in a country where the customs, language and idiosyncrasies were different. In brief, These humanistic short stories and poems where penned for the delight of the reader of any age whose mind stays pure and young. "Break Time stories" were compiled as best as possible. Their objective is to entertain and deliver a message of peace to all the people whom, in their own way, struggle every day to become better. More than giving directives, this short book gives the reader suggestions.... In Appreciation, Jerry Gómez shor, Jr.
About the Author: It was thanks to my mother that I showed up in this world on October 29, 1967, at around 10 at night at the Clínica "Hogar de la Madre" in the city of Miraflores, Lima, Perú. Since then, and thanks to my parents, I lived wandering around the world, studied in many schools and got to know many places in Perú. As a grown-up I fell in love with nature and started working at the "Industry without Chimneys" (hospitality and tourism). I later specialized in the culinary area, which took me to visit and dine in almost all of Perú and parts of South America. Today, living in California (USA) and considering myself a "frontiersman" I have begun this new adventure with the release of my second book.
