La historia de Brian Jones no es sustancialmente distinta de la de muchos de aquellos musicos que han sido pioneros de un movimiento, de una filosofia, de un cambio cultural y social. Casi expulsado de aquella provinciana Cheltenham en la que su espiritu libre y su talento creador no encajaba con los convencionalismos de aquella sociedad rigidamente conservadora, marcho a Londres para ser un musico profesional, convencido de que aquella musica que le subyugaba -el blues- tenia que ser conocida y reconocida por el mayor numero posible de gente. Lucho denodadamente por conseguirlo y para hacerlo, creo el grupo que mas grande ha llegado a ser en la historia del rock, los Rolling Stones. Con los Stones no solo popularizo el blues, sino que dio un nuevo sentido musical al rock y creo un camino de evolucion que serviria de referente a todos sus contemporaneos. Tristemente, ello le llevo a tener que sacrificar demasiadas cosas y a verse traicionado por quienes habian sido sus companeros de viaje en aquella aventura. Como todas aquellas personas dotadas de un talento y de una sensibilidad extraordinarias, Brian Jones era una persona dificil, de una psicologia compleja y con la que en muchas ocasiones era realmente dificil compenetrarse. Vivio de manera rapida, intensa, febril, como si en lo mas profundo de su ser supiera que no estaba destinado a vivir muchos anos. Pero dejo un maravilloso recuerdo entre todos los que le conocieron y trataron, que siempre se sintieron un poco culpables de no haber podido evitar su muerte. Despues vinieron Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison... pero el fue el primer muerto, la primera victima, la primera estrella de rock que se quedo en el camino. Y siempre pidio que no se le juzgara severamente...
