About the Book

King Randor thinks it's about time his son, Prince Adam settled down and got married. Adam agrees, but his father doesn't know he is He-man. Only a few others knew this secret, Duncan man-at-arms, orko the palace jester, and the sorceress of castle greyskull who had given Adam his powers. Adam brings his concerns about marriage to sorceress. When he married, how could he keep that secret from his bride? Outside of greyskull, the prince is attacked by beast-man and evil Lynn, henchmen for the evil wizard skeletor. Using her magic, evil-Lynn warps Adam's mind so he doesn't know who he is. Skeletor decides to use this to his advantage. He could trick the king to think his son was dead. Skeletor would then take the throne of eternia, and, with it, the secrets of Castle greyskull. Adam is tricked to think he's a slave. He is ransomed by farmer girl, Trishura, who doesn't know know he's her prince! Trishura brings him to his farm. Duncan and orko arrive at greyskull with skeletor's ultimatum. The sorceress sent the pair to fetch Adam home with a warning not to scare him. The sorceress had found a prediction that her champion must marry and produce an heir. It was Trishura who was destined to be his bride. The powerful magic of Castle Greyskull broke skeletor's dark magic and restored Adam's memory. After becoming He-Man, he helped defend his father's palace from Skeletor. Adam told his father what had happened. He and Trishura had fallen in love, but she didn't know he was a prince. With King Randor's permission, Adam invited Trishura to the palace, along with the other, eligible, noble maidens. He then reveals his identity to Trishura, and asks her to marry him. Prince Adam and Trishura marry. As a gift, the sorceress offers them the use of Castle Greyskull for the wedding night. Adam then reveals to his bride that he is He-man. He brings her to the palace, much to the dismay of Adam's class conscious cousin Lady Edwina. Skeletor and his mentor, Hordack, soon learn of the prophecy. Shadow weaver, Hordack's witch, casts a spell so Trishura and her child would die. The sorceress warns Adam. Planet Earth would be a refuge until the family could return home. There, they are welcomed to the X-Manson by professor Charles Xavier and his X-men.
