Lieutenant Alex Miranda stands over the bodies of four beheaded men in a drug-packaging warehouse in Nogales, Mexico. Given the bloody, escalating cartel wars, Alex isn't even shocked-until he discovers one of the victims is his brother.
A note at the scene suggests Angel La Cava is involved, and Alex immediately recognizes the name. As the head of the Tijuana Cartel, La Cava is synonymous with cruelty and violence.
Despite his grief, Alex must pull himself together and undertake the dangerous task of hunting down the powerful drug lord who seems to be above the law.
The pursuit takes Alex across Sonora and Baja and deep into the network of corruption, greed, and murder within the warring cartels.
If Alex hopes to escape with his life, he must constantly outsmart La Cava, plant spies in his ranks, and stay one step ahead in this deadly chase.
All the while, Alex tries to push away the one question he can't escape: When he finds La Cava, will he slap him in handcuffs or avenge his brother's gruesome murder?
