About the Book

Chinke, a promising young girl, is a victim of romantic deception, occasioned by an identical twin: Bundu. She thinks he's Machi, her real love; this trick complicates as she becomes pregnant. Bundu now has two top secrets hunting him: his brother's handset theft and his real identity. The reality is inevitable, especially as she stumbles into a Magazine Publication, which tells her all she needed to know. She resigns to fate; but how could she come to terms with what she hated from childhood-single Parenthood?-made worse by uncompromising and incredible secret between her mother and Rebecca. This young adult fiction is a contemporary romance story, set in Nigeria. It's a character-driven story filled with deception, suspense, and uncertainty, including desire and despair. It weaves lies with love, and disloyalty with commitment, in a dangerous manner that nearly led to catastrophe. The theme revolves around love and hates with emphasis on affection, human desire, relationship, economic hardship, and social status, etc.BriefChinke's innocence is betrayed by Bundu who capitalizes on her love for Machi, his twin brother, to exploit her ignorance. Things take an ugly dimension as she becomes pregnant. Bundu, now masked with two ugly secrets that he thinks must not be revealed, is prepared to keep the hood but for this pregnancy snag. His real identity and that infamous phone theft that he orchestrated, moves the plot from a "social reality show" into a "life-threatening movie". His social distancing and hurried vacation in an attempt to buy-time all hit brick wall as nemesis come knocking.Chinke thinks she has seen it all, including the much-hated single-parenting. This and many other dilemmas is what she is trying to resolve, until... "The novelist paints a picture of a realistic setting, reminiscent of the contemporary reality of our modern time. The reader is gripped at the speed in which actions metamorphosed into a dome of continuity and verisimilitude of life. The captivating description of the episode gives credence to its message for the reader" ---U.S. Madukwe, former Director School of General Studies, IMT Enugu, Nigeria.
