Dabei sollen qualitative Aussagen zur Unternehmensentwicklung, zu den Potenzialen aber auch zu den Risiken im Mittelpunkt stehen. Der Planungshorizont sollte sich auf drei bis fünf Jahre erstrecken. Für die Gründung und Entwicklung von jungen, wachstumsstarken Technologieunternehmen kommt dem Businessplan eine besondere Bedeutung zu. Ein ausgereifter und lebendiger Businessplan stellt die entscheidenden Weichen für den zukünftigen Erfolg des Unternehmens. Der Businessplan ist daher kein starres Instrument, das einmal geschrieben ist und dann ewige Gültigkeit genießt.
