Was davon lässt sich in den wissenschaftlichen Kanon einbinden und was entspringt der blumigen Sprache der Personalberater? Die Leitfrage lautet hierbei: Inwieweit lässt sich das Konzept des CMX in ein ganzheitliches Personalmarketing integrieren? Dazu wird zunächst mit einer Reise in die Ausläufer des Personalmarketings begonnen. Welche Modelle umringen diesen Zweig der Wissenschaft und welche Publikationen lassen sich bereits zum CMX finden? Im Anschluss wird in Kapitel 2 und 3 ein genauer Blick auf die beiden Disziplinen Personalmarketing und Candidate Experience Management geworfen. Was macht Personalmarketing aus und was bietet das Bewerbererfahrungsmanagement? Hier gilt es, den Kern der Sache zu identifizieren, um ihn im Anschluss in Kapitel 4 theoretisch zu integrieren. Diese Integration wird untergliedert in die Fragen, ob der zu betrachtende Ansatz grundsätzlich passt, wo er zu verorten ist und inwieweit er sich überhaupt verorten lässt. Den Abschluss bildet die Forschung, mittels derer Theorie und Praxis verglichen werden, um abschließend konkludieren zu können, ob es sich beim Candidate Experience Management um mehr handelt als einen bloßen Managementansatz. Was das Candidate Experience Management ist und wie es sich manifestiert, das scheint jeder Urheber anders zu sehen. Wo man zunächst Logik und Stringenz findet, bleibt bei genauerem Hinsehen oft nichts übrig. Das eingedeutschte Kandidatenerfahrungsmanagement versucht, den Bewerber ins Zentrum des Recruiterhandelns zu stellen. Doch befindet er sich nicht bereits dort?
