About the Book

Anya Gupta’s The Captainship presents an exceptional collection of interviews of first-generation entrepreneurs who have made it big on their own.

The book mainly focuses on their journey to success, and adds a human touch to their stories by highlighting instances of joy and sorrow from their childhood and adolescence. It has been designed to motivate the readers by taking them through the lives of these entrepreneurs as they rose to prominence.

The stories included in this book show that these famous personalities have faced the same trials and tribulations that anyone from their generation would have been up against. They were not privileged from the start and often had to fight tooth and nail to overcome any obstacles. The book details how these people, who were common men and women themselves, turned out to be the founders of the new Indian economy. It particularly shines light on the slow transition from self doubt to optimism that such personalities go through at some point in their lives.

The title of the book is inspired by William Ernest Henley’s poem, Invictus.

A Thrilling But Totally Believable Murder Mystery

Read this in one evening. I had planned to do other things with my day, but it was impossible to put down. Every time I tried, I was drawn back to it in less than 5 minutes. I sobbed my eyes out the entire last 100 pages. Highly recommend!
