About the Book

Offering a unique insight into the life and work of Carl Jung, this book features his paintings, excerpts from his journals and letters, and commentary from his contemporaries. A fascinating and accessible companion to more academic editions of his work, this biography sheds light on the cultures, environments, and people that shaped this great thinker. Accompanied by commentary from the author, the words of Jung himself and of those who shared his work and private life--including his mentor, Sigmund Freud; his wife, Emma Jung; and his assistant and lover, Toni Wolff--are presented verbatim, and photographs of Jung, his associates, and the places in which he lived and worked are interspersed throughout the biography.
