About the Author: Dick Claassen has written everything from a math textbook for Houghton-Mifflin, to high-end magazine articles about darkroom photography, (back when they still used film in cameras), to magazine articles about dulcimer building and miniature carnivals, to romance novels, to how-to books on how to play the Native American flute. With the support of his parents, Claassen began writing as a young child. Claassen's earliest memory of writing was his mother helping him write notes to breakfast cereal companies to ask them to send him their latest box-top toy. Of course, a quarter and a box-top was enclosed in the envelope, along with his carefully penned note his mother helped him write. Eventually Claassen found his way to serious writing as an adult, and in 1999, Claassen and his business partner, Kathryn Struck, began an online e-book publishing company called, "Awe-Struck E-Books". During the ten years the publishing company was in operation, Claassen took the time to write his first Native American flute how-to book: "Celebrate the Native American Flute".
