Insbesondere bei einem anstehenden Wechsel an der Vorstandsspitze rücken die biografischen Hintergründe der Nachfolger verstärkt in den Vordergrund. In diesem Zusammenhang werden die Anforderungen an diese Position und die strategischen Herausforderungen des Unternehmens erörtert, welchen der neue CEO mit seinem Repertoire an Erfahrung und Wissen gegenübersteht. Neben den Fähigkeiten und dem Entwicklungspotenzial eines potentiellen Nachfolgers beeinflusst auch die Unternehmenskultur den CEO-Wechsel. Familienunternehmen sind für die deutsche Volkswirtschaft von herausragender Bedeutung. Auf sie entfallen etwa 42 Prozent der Umsätze aller Unternehmen und 57 Prozent der sozialversicherungspflichtigen Beschäftigten. Das Studienziel dieser Veröffentlichung besteht darin, anhand ausgewählter biografischer Größen mögliche Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten zwischen Familien- und Nicht-Familienunternehmen zu eruieren und herauszufinden, ob ein Zusammenhang zwischen einem biografischen Faktor und dem jeweiligen Unternehmenstyp existiert.
About the Author: Claudia Krogoll, M.A., wurde 1987 in Rathenow geboren. Im Jahr 2010 schloss die Autorin ein duales Studium an der Berufsakademie Sachsen zur Diplom-Betriebswirtin (BA) ab. Bereits während des praxisorientierten Studiums legte sie bei der Themenwahl ihrer Studienarbeiten den Fokus auf personalwirtschaftliche Zusammenhänge. Nach einem Jahr als Führungskraft im Einzelhandel entschloss sich die Autorin ihre Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen im Personalbereich zu vertiefen, indem sie den Master-Studiengang "Arbeits- und Personalmanagement" an der Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft in Berlin absolvierte. Im Verlauf des Studiums sammelte die Autorin umfassende praktische Erfahrungen im Bereich Human Resources. Unter anderem ermöglichte ihr ein Praktikum bei einer renommierten Personalberatung Einblicke in die kulturellen Besonderheiten von Familienunternehmen und deren Umgang mit der CEO-Nachfolge. Fasziniert von diesen Eindrücken motivierte sie sich dafür, sich der Thematik des vorliegenden Buches zu widmen.
