Veränderungen im Mitarbeiterstamm und in der Führungsebene werden öfter und in immer kürzeren Abständen vollzogen. Aufgrund des immer größer werdenden Fachkräftemangels ist der Markt der potenziell in Frage kommenden Bewerber außerdem aus Unternehmenssicht begrenzt. Zudem wird insbesondere der Kampf mit konkurrierenden Unternehmen um die besten Talente immer härter. Früher reichte es für Unternehmen aus, Vermittlungen und Personalberater einzuschalten, Stellenanzeigen in Printmedien zu schalten und ggf. nebenbei noch auf Messen präsent zu sein, um geeignete Mitarbeiter rekrutieren zu können. Heutzutage genügt die ausschließliche Anwendung dieser klassischen Personalbeschaffungsmethoden jedoch nicht mehr aus. Vielmehr müssen Unternehmen ergänzend bzw. ersetzend zu diesen klassischen Methoden eine Reihe von modernen Instrumenten anwenden. Die vorliegende Arbeit verfolgt somit das Ziel, zu zeigen, wie sich die klassischen und modernen Personalbeschaffungsmethoden optimal miteinander verbinden lassen und welchen Stellenwert die modernen bzw. auch die klassischen Methoden heutzutage besitzen. Zu diesem Zweck werden zuerst die Chancen und Risiken der klassischen und modernen Methoden einzeln analysiert, um mit Hilfe dieser Erkenntnisse im Schlussteil eine Empfehlung an Unternehmen zur Verwendung und Kombination dieser Methoden abzugeben. Dabei lässt sich die grundlegende Erkenntnis gewinnen, dass das World Wide Web und somit das E-Recruiting in der modernen Welt der Personalbeschaffung stetig an Bedeutung gewinnen.
