About the Author: Joseph A. Garofalo is a graduate of North Park College and DePaul University School of Law and a member of the American, Illinois State, and Chicago Bar Associations. He was admitted to practice law before the US District Court, Northern District of Illinois, including the Federal Trial Bar, and the US Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit. After working as an associate for seven years, he left to cofound his own firm, which is now called Garofalo, Schreiber & Storm, Chartered.
Garofalo's career focus is workers' compensation and employers' liability, and he has extensive litigation experience before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission, the Circuit Court, the Appellate Court, and the Illinois Supreme Court. Additionally, he's lectured on the topic before the Chicago Bar Association and a variety of business groups and insurance professionals.
Garofalo and his wife reside primarily in Park Ridge, Illinois, and part-time at Garofalo Family Vineyards in Healdsburg, California.
