About the Book

Der lange Zeit zu Unrecht ausschliesslich als "Asamschuler" wahrgenommene Christoph Thomas Scheffler gehort zu jenen Malern des Spatbarock, die durch ihre Freskomalereien die Kulturlandschaft Suddeutschlands massgeblich gepragt haben. Erstmals seit 1939 ist ihm eine monographische Studie gewidmet, die grundsatzlich neue Erkenntnisse uber Leben und Werk des Barockmalers vermittelt.
About the Author: Simone Hartmann, geb. Unger Studium der Kunstgeschichte in Eichstatt, Bologna und Munchen; 2013 Promotion mit der vorliegenden Arbeit an der LMU. Mitwirken u.a. bei Ausstellungen zum Munchner Barockmaler Ulrich Loth in der Alten Pinakothek sowie uber Eichstatter Stadtansichten im dortigen Diozesanmuseum. o 2001 Abitur am Christoph-Scheiner-Gymnasium in Ingolstadt o 2001-2006: Magisterstudium der Kunstgeschichte, Geschichte der Fruhen Neuzeit und der Theorie und Didaktik der Geschichte an der Katholischen Universitat Eichstatt-Ingolstadt und der Universita di Bologna/Italien o 2006: Magistra Artium mit der Arbeit "Eichstatt in Stadtansichten - Von der graphischen Darstellung Eichstatts in Hartmann Schedels Weltchronik 1493 bis zu Maurizio Pedettis Stadtplan und -ansicht 1796" o 2006-2008: Mitarbeit an der Sonderausstellung "Ulrich Loth - Zwischen Caravaggio u.
