Ed never believed that he would have to live through a zombie apocalypse. One day he was Ed Kirk, a normal sixteen-year-old boy with a loving family, a beautiful girlfriend, and a full life ahead of him. Now he's on the run from zombies, being hunted by a dark force that threatens his very existence, all the while trying to escape his hometown and find help. Oh, yeah, one more thing: Ed is a zombie too!
"Ed Undead: The Chronicles of a Teenage Zombie is a strong story that never bores, and Ed, the 16 year old almost zombie, shows us what true courage is. I give it 4 stars and a place in the Awesome Indies listing. Ed and Lisa are great characters to spend time with, even if it is in a zombie infested town." AvidReader
"I loved this book. Ed is an everyday guy who has hidden leadership abilities that are developing throughout the story. When placed into a bad situation with the zombies he still keeps it together because Ed is a hero. Lisa Jane is strong, smart and a very good second who can kick butt all by herself. This book was a page turner because I couldn't wait to read what happened next and I cheered them on throughout the story. It is a book that anyone can read and I would read it again this time next year." Cloey.k
"This book was captivating. I was drawn in from the first page and found it hard to put down. This is a definite must read even if you aren't a zombie fan." m pollard

About the Author: Edward Kent began his "career" as a writer after being unceremoniously laid off by his employer in 2010. With three young kids of his own at the time and being quite "familiar" with the many types of children's books, he sought to create a series of educational stories whose main character is a friendly boy zombie named Ed. As Kent wrote more Zombie Ed books, he began exploring deeper, and more socially relevant issues, such as divorce, self-esteem, death and bullying. The bullying topic was brought about by the tragic suicide of a Buffalo, NY boy, who after much cyber bullying, decided death was his only escape. Kent felt that Zombie Ed was a perfect protagonist, since he wasn't a stereotype, but a fictional character that everyone could relate to. Kent continues to look for current social topics for his Zombie Ed series. Titles in the Zombie Ed children's book series include: -Zombie Ed Knows His ABC's! -Zombie Ed Counts To Twenty! -Zombie Ed Loves Halloween! -Zombie Ed Thinks School Is Cool! -What's A Zombie To Do. When His House Is Split In 2? -Stop Bullying Me! I'm A Zombie. So What? -An Empty Space In Class -What's So Great About Me? I'm Nothing. Just a Zombie! After publishing a few of the Zombie Ed books, Kent got an itch to do something a little more advanced. He wanted to stick with zombie characters, but in a more grown up fashion. His first novel, in a planned young adult trilogy, Ed Undead: The Chronicles of a Teenage Zombie, found the protagonist, Ed Kirk, awaking to a new zombie infested world, with the virus slowly taking over his body. He tries to escape his small town after finding his girlfriend, Lisa Jane. They search for help, all the while being hunted by a mysterious figure who wants Ed for his own purposes. The second novel in the series, Ed Undead: Dead Like Me, published in 2014, picks up where the first book left off. Ed and Lisa Jane, are now living day by day, trying to make it to Canada, where there is a promise of hope at the CDC. By now, the virus has taken a stronger hold of Ed's body and the "zombification" process has advanced, spurring Ed to make some hard choices. Kent is currently working on the third and final book, Ed Undead: Journey's End, coming December 2017. What will happen to Ed is anybody's guess? You'll have to read all 3 novels to find out!
