About the Book

Clinch the job is a series of twelve meditations for anyone preparing for a job interview. If you dread interviews, or simply feel you need a bit of extra practice, this mindfulness programme will help you develop a more confident mindset. Each meditation lasts about 5 minutes and the total meditative experience lasts just under an hour. Author and careers coach, Teresa Orange, describes how mindfulness can have a transforming impact on her clients: "Mindfulness connects you with your own self-belief, and builds an inner confidence that becomes part of your working identity. It promotes a positive frame of mind that enhances interview performance, and helps convince prospective employers that you are the right person for the job." The first six meditations help you address the different phases of interview questioning, and the following meditations help you avoid classic interview pitfalls. A finale meditation offers you a warm-up session for the day of your interview. The book includes mind maps and narratives so that you can reflect on the meditative journey; and there are also a series of related research tasks and tips to help you sharpen up your interview performance. All the audios are available on YouTube. "I hope that you enjoy the meditations and that they become a useful element of your interview routine; a more laid-back approach to interview preparation," says author Teresa Orange.
About the Author: Teresa Orange launched as a careers coach in 2012 after a career in the creative industries. She currently offers specialist support for young people in their twenties, and particularly enjoys helping these clients during the early stages of their careers. She first used mindfulness techniques in her work as a qualitative researcher in advertising agencies J. Walter Thompson and Davidson Pearce. Here she developed projective techniques to encourage consumers to connect with their underlying emotions and to help them step into the future. In her work as a careers coach she has found that mindfulness can have a transforming effect on her clients - developing confidence and empowering individuals to simply be themselves. Teresa studied Psychology / Biology (BSc) at The University of Exeter, and Careers Management (MSc) at London South Bank University. See: www.teresaorange.com
