About the Book

The first book of the Cobalt Series Trilogy, The Cobalt Domain takes its readers to a place of intrigue and introduces them to a life in which humans and creatures unravel the mystery of unworldly powers and face the battle between control and trust. Cassandra "Casey" Campbell goes missing. She finds herself in an unknown forest with trees that all look exactly the same, a sky with no sun, and nothing but a trail to keep her company. When she happens upon a small cabin, the information overload she receives from the quirky, older woman seems far fetched. Casey is told she has crossed into another dimension and now exists in a place called The Cobalt Domain. A place that no one wants to stay but that very few have figured out how to leave. Casey is given the responsibility to deliver a package to someone she doesn't know, travel on trails in forests she has never before been, and meet people and creatures she is instructed never to trust. Casey reluctantly sets out on the journey armed only with a magical satchel and a notebook filled with information that she can't seem to decipher. On her journey Casey finds love, tests her will, and discovers qualities about herself that she didn't realize existed. The Domain is a place separated into nine sections called Darus. Each section is distinguished by a quality and known for its color. Every distinguishing quality contributes to the domain equally, no one better than anyone else and everyone relying on others. There is only one questions to ask; What is your Gateway?, and the answer explains where a person belongs as much as it reveals what his or her value is. The domain was meant to exist in harmony whereas everyone performs his or her duties and gives more than they receive. The Domain once thrived. It no longer does. Before Casey arrived, Pioneer, the self appointed ruler, replaced harmony with power. He discovered the art of morphing a human into a creature. Cross Pioneer and suffer that consequence. Now the domain acts on the orders of Pioneer. People live in fear. The happiness that once permeated throughout the domain has been erased. There is hope. Jake Lancaster established The Assembly, a clandestine group organized with the sole intent of overthrowing Pioneer and restoring balance and equanimity to the domain. While The Assembly has good intentions, Jake struggles to overcome his own obstacles. His family is more important to him than anything. Jake knows he must take action, but he can't until he is certain his son and wife are safe. The Cobalt Domain outlines Casey's journey in another realm and reveals the tests that a person must endure to come of age, to trust someone else, and to truly know ones self. Similar to the action in The Hunter Games and the fantasy of Divergent, The Cobalt Domain encompasses adventure, love, belief systems, mystery, power, and intrigue into one journey that is certain to entertain as much as it will make you wonder.
About the Author: Darla Roselle has earned an undergraduate degree in journalism and a master's degree in financial management. For the majority of her adult life, she has managed the family business. It was after she began to teach yoga, which she learned as a form of stress relief more than an occupation, that her initial creative outlet emerged. Yoga opened mental doors that the structure of her job kept sealed. While Darla always knew she had a vivid imagination, it was not until her son asked her to make up a bedtime story that Darla realized how much of an imagination she actually had. The Cobalt Domain began in the bedroom of Darla's five year old son and has progressed into a trilogy filled with action and intrigue. Darla continues to enjoy yoga, tennis, running, and reading, but most of all spending time with her family, who remains her inspiration in everything she writes.
