About the Book

Meet Mark Hopkins, he's 16 and feels like a fish out of water at school, and in his own family. Mark lives on an aging council estate in Gloucester and constantly dreams of escape. Luckily, he has a kindred spirit in the shape of his Uncle, Nathaniel Darcy, a writer who lives nearby, in Cheltenham. Mark stays over at Nathaniel's house most weekends where he gets to hear his uncle's tall tales. These serve to help to elevate him from what he refers to as his, mundane existence.

Soon, Mark discovers that Nathaniel has a particular gift, one that allows elements from his stories to appear in his house, and naturally, Mark is intrigued. He immediately sets about trying to discover Nathaniel's secret.

One day Mark meets a mysterious house guest, staying for a few days at his uncle's house - a psychic medium, named, Madame Clarice. Mark initially resents her stealing his time with Nathaniel but later, after the three of them visit to a haunted house, he starts to change his mind about her. That summer, his uncle invites Mark to accompany him on a holiday at Clarice's chateau in France. He is thrilled, until he finds out that his annoying twin sister, Minty will also be joining them. He suddenly thinks the whole trip is doomed to failure, but soon realizes, after Minty sees a floating blue orb in her bedroom, that they both share a psychic ability.

Pretty soon the twins are united in trying to reunite the spirit of a Jewish mother with both, her long-lost daughter and with the missing family fortune. This reawakens Nathaniel's mysterious past, working for the French Resistance, and bring the story to a close with a glittering bang!
About the Author: I LOVE the freedom of expression that writing gives me. I am writing several books at the moment, some for pre-school children, some for the young adult market and some for adults. Currently I am ploughing away, writing my first adult paranormal novel and loving every creepy minute of it.

The Collected Tales of Nathaniel Darcy, is my second published book for children, along with my first ghost story for adults, DeMorte: Legend of The Lanes, and my first children's book, Do You Believe in Magic? All of my books tend to have either a paranormal, magical or spiritual thread woven through the richly embroidered text, which, when you get to know me, is not surprising. I am very much in tune with the spirits, I am a member of one psychic development circle and one, more general psychic circle, and as such, I feel that partly subconsciously, I am channeling spirit when I am in such a relaxed state, i.e., when I am writing. This, I firmly believe, is why there always tends to be a strong other-worldly thread running through most of my work.

I enjoy writing scripts too - in fact, more than anything, I want to see my books turned into movies.

All of my stories have an air of positivity about them - something that I consider our troubled world desperately needs (however cheesy that might sound). I hope that reading my spiritually uplifting story will fully engage the reader and fill their minds with questions that will lead them to acknowledging their spiritual side to some extent.

By my nature, I am a deep thinker and a truly kind hearted person. I do not have a vast array of friends, merely a select few but the ones I have are very dear to me and I am fiercely loyal to them.

On a final note: I truly believe that magic is indeed in the air at this time and that something positive and wonderful is happening. I also feel that the joy of wonder holds no barriers so, please, whatever your age, start reading, The Collected Tales of Nathaniel Darcy and, Do You Believe in Magic?, because I just know you are going to have a magical experience!
