Francesco Tommasi proviene da una famiglia che dall'esterno sembra essere perfetta, ma come tutte le più grandi famiglie l'apparenza è solo un involucro per celare segreti e problematiche. Tutto sembra scorrere a gonfie e vele fino a quando una sera incontra Clara: amica e coinquilina di Sissi, la fidanzata del suo migliore amico. Lui venditore, contraente, espositore di vini della sua azienda vinicola ma con un sogno nel cassetto che sembra essere irrealizzabile.
Clara Silvestrini proviene da una famiglia di artisti, perfetta come quella del Mulino Bianco, ma anche lei gioca di facciata, indossando una maschera per nascondere profonde ferite e segreti che sono proprio dietro all'angolo e anche se vorrebbe negarlo a se stessa, Francesco è l'unico che può aiutarla.
Non potrebbero essere più diversi di così, se non fosse che nel loro cuore si è annidato lo stesso tipo di dolore.
Passo dopo passo impareranno a conoscersi e capiranno quanto in realtà hanno in comune.
Ma nessuno dei due è perfetto, e l'errore dietro l'angolo è lì che li aspetta in agguato.

Dopo la storia di Michele e Sissi, non poteva non mancare la storia di uno dei protagonisti che ha attirato l'attenzione tra le lettrici e lettori.
Lo rivediamo in note chiaro scure, con i suoi punti deboli e di forza.
È una storia che parla di fiducia, amicizia e amore. Si toccano temi importanti con leggerezza senza però darli per scontato. In una chiave ironica si presenta l'amore giovane, quello in cui ci si sente persi e tutto sembra troppo più grande di noi.

L'autrice, con questo terzo e ultimo volume conclude la serie Storm. Questo volume è uno spin-off di "Come un Fulmine" e "Come un Lampo", per questo motivo non necessita della lettura dei precedenti. Tuttavia, l'autrice ne consiglia la lettura per capire al meglio l'intera storia, in quanto all'interno di Come un Tuono ci sono dei riferimenti ai primi due libri.
