About the Book
Every day we artists and entrepreneurs face new challenges, new enemies arrayed to block us from expressing and manifesting our inner greatness, enemies who test our character and resilience, using every weapon to try and undermine and discourage us by criticism, ridicule, lies, false promises, blocking of doors, and worse of all, doing it with fake smiles and empty words, or simply ignoring us as we're unworthy of attention - until we have the money of course, and then suddenly everyone wants to be in our light, and share in our triumph. To make life even more difficult and challenging for us artist and entrepreneur brothers and sisters, not only are we attacked by outer evil forces, but unfortunately, the greatest of ALL enemies, dwells in our minds. It takes great, disciplined effort to defeat the terrorist in our head, doing its best to undermine us spiritually, pushing us to give up, to settle for a life of mediocrity. As the fiery pastor T.D. Jakes passionately extols us, to succeed in life, "we must prrrrrrrry the enemy out of our heads." Which means not taking it personally when people disappoint us, when things go wrong as they often do. I believe, we must fight against the forces of darkness by letting go our fears, our past, and refocusing on goals, doing due diligence, self-educating ourselves if necessary, mastering skills, fearlessly tackling what we've never done before. And as scary as it may be to some, we MUST overcome our handicaps, and transform ourselves into intrepid warriors of our magnificent visions, embracing our destinies, countering hardships with resolve and obsessive self-belief and abundance of confidence - not arrogance, and committing to victory or death, FIGHT. Or we can settle for less than expressing the greatness we are. And I don't blame anyone for doing that, because succeeding as an artist or entrepreneur in today's competitive world, is definitely not for the faint of heart. As I realized that I not alone in my struggles, I decided to share in a this booklet, COMMITMENT TO VICTORY, a compilation of motivational messages I write and share daily with my artist and entrepreneur brothers and sisters online on websites as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Tumblr, etc., to empower them and myself - having risen from an illiterate immigrant at 13, Brooklyn street hoodlum, high school dropout, runaway from home at 16, to a life of achievement. Daily, I share messages of love, hope and faith, and what I hope, is hard earned wisdom derived from my own life experiences, having fallen on my butt as many times as I have, and yet, I never gave up, achieving much, with still much ahead of me to accomplish, which keeps me young, motivated, and enthused. I hope that you find the 31 powerful motivational messages I share with you in this booklet inspirational, my beloved artist and entrepreneur brothers and sisters, strengthening your resolve to commit to VICTORY, expressing your inner-greatness with an unflagging belief that you CAN achieve the dreams and goals in your hearts and souls, that others may claim is impossible.
