ICHSS is an international seminar that is held every two years organized by the Research and Community Service Institute of the State University of Malang. The meeting aims to discuss the theoretical and practical developments of Social Sciences and Humanities in Indonesia and other countries with a view to build academic networks by gathering academics from various research institutes and universities.
Community empowerment serves as a trigger to increase community independence and to cope with the challenges resulting from the rapid development of technology. An important aspect of the community empowerment effort is to link the results of innovation research for the benefit of community. The results of research should not only be limited to publications in the academic environment. Open Access to various forms of the existing literature is one of the requirements for innovative research to develop optimally. Therefore, this seminar has also served as a place for field researchers from various geographical areas to socialize, to discuss and to find solutions to current issues in the field of social sciences and humanities, as well as to build cooperation and synergy in creating ideas for mutual collaboration and to create joint research.
About the Author: Joko Sayono is an academic and expert in the field of History and Social History Education. He is a lecturer in the Department of History, Faculty of Social Sciences, State University of Malang. He published books and also presents his academic work in a number of leading international academic journals.
Ahmad Taufiq, S.Pd, M.Si is a director of the Centre for Scientific Publication, Universitas Negeri Malang. His research is mainly focused on nanomaterials as well as synthesis, characterization, and application. His research is also related to the halal development, especially for halal materials. He is also an Editor in Chief of the Nusantara Halal Journal.
Luechai Sringernyuang is a Consultant on participatory approaches to community development and livelihoods. Consultant in the team of ADB-supported EY project as National Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist.
Muhamad Alif Haji Sismat is a lecturer at the Faculty of Arabic Language, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, specialising in Translation, Technology, Linguistics, Arabic, English, Second Language Acquisition, and Computer-Assisted Translation Tools. An Experienced Lecturer with skills in research, linguistics, and translation. Strong education professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) focused on Applied Translation Studies from the University of Leeds. He also contributed to several research funded projects by the government of Brunei Darussalam that have been published in international journals and proceedings.
Zawawi Ismail is an Associate Professor and currently Deputy Dean and Quality Manager at the Faculty of Education, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He received his Bachelor Degree in Arabic Language & Literature (Major), Shariah (Minor) from Yarmouk University, Jordan, Post Graduate Diploma of Education from the International Islamic University Malaysia, Master in Arabic Education and obtained his Ph.D in the field of Education from National University of Malaysia 2008. His research interests include Arabic & Islamic Education Curriculum, Teacher Education, Muslim Minority Education, and Quranic Language Education. He has published articles in international and national journals, books and other publications. Dr. Zawawi has contributed a lot to the society and he is also active in several NGOs and one of the founders of Yayasan As-Syafie which is focusing in developing Islamic Boarding School in Cambodia and other educational activities in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Francis M. Navarro is a lecturer at Ateneo De Manila University. He also has experience teaching at several leading universities such as the University of Asia and the Pacific, Xavier School-Grenhills, Brent International School-Pasig City, and the University of the Philippines. His research interests include, but not limited to, Asian History and Philippine History. He has published his works in leading academic journals and also presented his academic work at a number of international academic conferences.
Agus Purnomo is a lecturer in Social Studies Program, Faculty of Social Science, Universitas Negeri Malang. He has served for the past 5 years on the Teori dan Praksis Pembelajaran IPS Journal as an Editor-in-Chief. His research interests include, but are not limited to, education, tourism, and ecopedagogy. He has published his works in leading academic journals and also presented his academic work at a number of international academic conferences.
Idris is a lecturer in the Social Studies Program, Faculty of Social Science, Universitas Negeri Malang. His research interests include, but are not limited to, human resource management, strategic management, tourism, and learning innovation. He has published his works in leading academic journals and also presented his academic work at a number of international academic conferences.
