About the Book

If you work in health or social care - whether it's elderly care, disability services, mental health, community care, or family/child welfare - this handbook is for you!

It's also a fantastic handbook for managers and supervisors who want to cultivate compassionate and person-centred carers.

Whether you're just starting your journey in social care or you're are a seasoned professional - or even if you're an unpaid carer at home - this handbook will help you provide compassionate, person-centred care that honours the humanity of everyone you care for.

This handbook's practical advice, know-how, principles and best practices all apply the whole world over - after all, compassion is a universal skill!

At the heart of compassionate care lies the person-centred approach, which means treating everyone with respect, dignity, and choice. They're people, not just a diagnosis, a behaviour, or a circumstance. That's not "just a dementia patient" - she's "Mary, an ex-school teacher who loves to go shopping but gets lost sometimes and also prefers to be helped on and off the bus".

Use this book's easy-to-follow steps to become the kindest, most compassionate and person-centred carer you can be. Buy this book now, and be the change you want to see!

About the author... Peter J Clark is a well-established author who wanted to give something back to society, so he embarked on a career journey in social care and support. Over 10 years he worked for several care companies and worked with people with physical, mental, emotional and situational difficulties. Sadly he saw that health and social care simply doesn't live up to the human standards that it should do. Staff are under-funded, over-worked, and under-resourced, so the care quality suffers. Peter believes that change can only come from within - the people who provide the front line care. That's YOU, so why not be the change you want to see!
