He has co-authored books like Database Systems: The Complete Book (with H. Garcia-Molina and J. Widom), Prentice-Hall, Englewood Cliffs, Elements of ML Programming, Prentice-Hall, Englewood Cliffs and Fundamental Concepts of Programming Systems, Addison-Wesley, Reading MA. He attended Columbia University for his degree and received his Ph.D from the Princeton University. Alfred V. Aho is a Canadian computer scientist. He has co-authored books like the The Theory of Parsing, Translation, and Compiling, Vol. 1 and The Design and Analysis of Computer Algorithms. Aho attended University of Toronto and went on to do his Ph.D from the Princeton University. Monica S. Lam is a computer science professor at the Stanford University. She has authored A Systolic Array Optimizing Compiler. Lam attended University of British Colombia for her bachelors and the Carnegie Mellon University to receive her Ph.D
