About the Author: Teo Pilapil is a chartered professional engineer specializing in civil and structural engineering. He graduated cum laude from Mindanao State University, Philippines, in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He received his master's degree in construction engineering and management from the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand. Both his undergraduate and postgraduate studies were fully funded by scholarship grants.
While presently a practicing structural engineer, he remains passionate about academics. He fully believes students don't have to be exceptionally intelligent to be at the top of their class. By working hard and following a correct system, students can attain whatever they desire. This belief inspired him to write The Concise Guide to Effective Studying.
He currently lives in New Zealand with his wife Annie and their children Buddy, Annette, and Claude.
