About the Author: Alun Keighs was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1953. His maternal grandfather was a master locksmith and prominent member of the Rosicrucian Society, while his father, Skelton Keighs, was in close contact with the Other Side for most of his long and uneventful career as a school janitor. Before qualifying as an education mystic, Alun combined night-shifts in a poultry processing plant with part-time work as a spiritual medium and star-gazer. He has at various times taught vitamin and mineral therapy, cosmic pedagogic navel gazing, corporate yoga and commercial divination. He now lives and practises in Kendal, Cumbria. Since publication five years ago of his ground-breaking book, Teaching Magic, Alun has made numerous appearances on both radio and television and is a regular, much-loved contributor to the Times' Incantation Supplement. He is author of two highly influential books on modern pedagogy - the best-selling Teaching Magic and the much admired Teaching and Learning: Sisyphus Reloaded. A committed occasional vegan, he cares passionately for the environment around his house and enjoys nothing better than long conversations with his psychic cat, Heraclitus (who, the author swears, is a reincarnation of Jim Callaghan).
