About the Author: MARK ALBON is the Global International Communications Manager for Global IT Solutions Dimensions In 2006 he completed a Masters in Business Leadership (MBL) with Unisa School of Business Leadership, South Africa TORD ANDERSSON, COLIN HASLAM, EDWARD LEE and NICK TSITSIANIS work with a group of academics in the Centre for Research in Finance and Accounting (CRiFA) which is based in the Business School at the University of Hertfordshire. CRiFA provides a focus for the development of critical and informative research in the area of finance and accounting PETRA BOUVAIN is a lecturer in Marketing at the University of Canberra. She is the Australian convenor of ProfNet, a global network of academics interesting in Internet-related research. Currently she is enrolled in the PhD program at the Australian National University TREVOR BUCK is a Professor in International Business at Loughborough University, with current research interests in executive pay in different institutional environments (United Kingdom, Germany, China) JIAN CHEN is currently a Senior Lecturer in Finance in the Business School at the University of Greenwich. He received his PhD in Finance from King's College London, UK STEPHEN CHEN is an Associate Professor of Management at Macquarie University. He holds an MBA from Cranfield Management School and a PhD in Business Policy from Imperial College, London, UK AMON CHIZEMA is Lecturer in International Business and Strategy at Loughborough University, UK. He has presented his work at major conferences such as the Academy of Management and Academy of International Business RUTH CLARKE is an Associate Professor in the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University, USA ENRICO COTTA RAMUSINO is Full Professor of Corporate Finance and Strategic Management at the University of Pavia, Italy. He has authored five books and several articles on Strategic Management and Corporate Finance JOHN H. DUNNING is Emeritus Professor of International Business at the University of Reading, UK, and at Rutgers University in the United States. He earned his doctorate in Economics from the University of Southampton in 1957, and since then has received five honorary doctorates NATALIA DYOMINA is a mathematician by training and a researcher at REB-Consulting in Moscow, Russia, a leading consultancy specializing in business surveys in Russia. She has published in the Journal of International Business Studies and the Journal of Development Studies SAUL ESTRIN is Professor of Managerial Economics and Strategy, and (since 2006) Head of the Department of Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK. He has been a Visiting Professor at Stanford University, Michigan Business School, Cornell University, and the European University Institute, and is a Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) and the William Davidson Institute, USA SIMON HARRIS lectures in International Strategic Management at the University of Edinburgh, UK. He works with companies concerning their strategic development and on their international growth, doing so with managers and Chief Executives in Scotland, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Sweden, China, Italy and Finland CHARLES HARVEY is Professor of Business History and Management and Dean of Faculty at Strathclyde Business School, UK. He holds a PhD in International Business from the University of Bristol. He has twice won the Wadsworth Prize for excellence in business history. BRUCE HEARN is currently completing his ESRC-funded doctorate at the Department of Management at King's College London, UK. He has worked as an analyst at several financial institution in the City of London, including BNP Paribas and Gulf (Saudi) International Bank RICHARD HYMAN is Professor of Industrial Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK, and is the founding editor of the European Journal of Industrial Relations GREGORY JACKSON is Senior Lecturer in Strategy and Comparative Management at King's College, London, UK. Dr Jackson has published widely on the topic of corporate governance, particularly cross-national comparisons of Germany, Japan, the UK and USA ROSTISLAV KAPELYUSHNIKOV is Chief Researcher at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is Deputy Chief Editor of the quarterly bulletin The Russian Economic Barometer, and Deputy Director of the Centre for Labour Market Studies at the State University - Higher School of Economics, Moscow ANDREI KUZNETSOV is Professor at Lancashire Business School, University of Central Lancashire, UK CHRISTEL LANE is Professor of Economic Sociology in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Cambridge University, UK MAIRI MACLEAN is Professor of International Business at Bristol Business School, UK VIOLA MAKIN is a Full Professor (Strategy and Governance) with seventeen years' experience as an academic member of the Strategy and International Business division of the University of South Africa's Graduate School of Business Leadership HIDEAKI MIYAJIMA is Professor at the School of Commerce and Vice Director of the Institute of Finance at Waseda University, Japan. He is also faculty fellow of Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI), a special research fellow of Policy Research Institute (Ministry of Finance), and adjunct professor of Chung-Ang University (Seoul) JENIFER PIESSE is Professor of International Business at King's College London and Visiting Professor at University of Stellenbosch, Republic of South Africa MARI SAKO is Professor of Management Studies at the Said Business School, University of Oxford, UK. After reading PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) at the University of Oxford, she studied for her MSc in Economics at the LSE, MA in Economics at the Johns Hopkins University, and PhD in Economics at the University of London ROGER STRANGE is Senior Lecturer in Economics at King's College London, UK. He is the author of five books, seven edited books, and numerous journal articles including papers in the Journal of International Business Studies, International Business Review, Transnational Corporations and Management International Review ZHONGHUA WU is a PhD candidate at the Business School, National University of Singapore. Her main interests include boards of directors, executive compensation and political control in emerging economies ANTONELLA ZUCCHELLA is Full Professor of Innovation Management and Marketing at the University of Pavia, Italy and Lecturer in International Marketing at Strasbourg University, France
