About the Book

English summary: In response to Cosimo of Medicis question about the best path to happiness, the philosopher Marsilius Ficinus embarked on an epistolary exploration in dialogue with the great intellectuals of his day. This exchange of letters became a philosophical act in and of itself, becoming an effort to work on the soul itself, on the decisions it must make, and the world it must sculpt. The letters inscribe man in a progression that leads from the narrow sphere of individuality to unity and the One.
