About the Book

The Cracked Slipper is an integrated sequel to the encompassing 'When Cinderbella Gets Divorced'. This book, unlike its predecessor, is made up entirely of contemporary poetry entrancing the life experiences of Cinderbella in the form of a tongue-and-cheek journal dated relating to particular life events and experiences. These poems will tease ones brain and pull at the heart strings simultaneously. The Cracked Slipper is a brilliant example of expression in a different form to which many can relate. Based on the real life events of Deanne Kim - uncovering the veil of her own life in the form of a different kind of art. 'After wearing the cracked slipper for many years and maybe even lifetimes - I can now begin to write the wrongs; by writing from wrong I can begin to walk my truth.' - Deanne Kim.
About the Author: Deanne Kim, born and raised in South Africa, studied art for a total of 12 years. Art has taken her on a phenomenal journey wherein she has taught formal art classes internationally whilst residing in the Philippines, as well as in her home country for a total of 20 plus years. Whilst studying through UNISA (University of South Africa), she branched into a new way of teaching, thus developed her 'Art Therapy' classes, which birthed in Johannesburg in 1998. As an Artist, Publisher and 'Therapist', Deanne's love for children and passion for life has led her to write and illustrate educational books ranging from Grade R - 12, collectively resulting in over 60 Educational books produced to date. Deanne's zest for life, writing, teaching and passion never ceased after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 1993. Given a second chance has been the greatest gift and she wants to share what she has discovered with all whom cross her path. Through her own life's journey, she began writing and expressing her experiences -from this she compiled two separate yet integrated books - 'When Cinderbella Gets Divorced' and 'The Cracked Slipper'.
