The Cracker Army is six Confederate soldiers who were all that were left from a group of over one hundred and fifty volunteers traveling into Georgia to impede General Sherman's march on Atlanta, Georgia. While waiting to do battle with General Sherman's forces they come across a Union Officer who, in the delerium of his dying moments, divulges the existence of three Union Army wagons loaded with gold for the Union Army's payroll and going to Atlanta, Georgia. The six Confederates who have grown weary of the war and realizing that it can not be won, decide to make off with these gold wagons and split all of the gold between themselves to pay for their deprivations that the war has cost them.

He is a retired Attorney who practiced law in Ohio for twenty two years after graduating from The Ohio State University with a BS degree and the College of Law with the University of Akron with a JD degree. He now resides on a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico across from Tampa in central Florida and spends his time cooking, reading, writing and painting. He painted the covers of both his books "Sand Storm Soldier" as well as "The Cracker Army's Gold". Early in his childhood he was very impressed with older and ancient civilizations and spent hours studying them. His interest in the American Civil War was due to the number of deaths attributed to this conflict which were more than 650,000 by conseritive estimates. He loves to travel and has spent much time in Costa Rica, Mexico, and Ireland and looks forward to returning to Ireland in the near future to search for gold that has been found over time in the Wicklow mountains in Southeastern Ireland, south of Dublin, with the biggest nugget being approximately 28 pounds found in l929!
