About the Book

The Ultimate Guidebook for Unleashing Your True Creative Self! Creativity, unlike any spoken language, is one we are born fluent in. We have the innate ability to create, but as we grow, develop and discover the world, some learn to nourish that spirit while others have their natural creativity suppressed. You may have been told that you're either creative or you're not, and that if you are among those who see themselves as "uncreative," you are doomed to a dreary life of inside-the-box thinking. This is simply not true! The language of Creativity is never gone. There's no such thing as a person who is not creative, merely someone who has lost touch with that artistic, expressive, imaginative creator inside. Before you were fluent in any language, you had to learn it: one word at a time and with repetition. You reclaim your creativity the same way -- through practice and play and exploration. With this book as your guide, you will learn: -How to see the objects in your daily life as inspirations for originality -How to unlock your inner adventurer by investigating the topics that interest you -The nouns and verbs that free your mind to create without boundaries -What courage has to do with conquering self-doubts and limitations -How to be flexible, to improvise and to open your mind and heart to what you are naturally able to create This book is the first step in your journey back to being the creative person you were born to be. The work is fun, inspiring, sometimes challenging, and as long as you keep with it, you cannot fail, and you will be fluent in Creativity - once again - in no time!
About the Author: Nancy Pia is an author, a teacher, a visual artist, and a community activist. She has made creative thinking her life long practice, and believes by reconnecting with our playful child-like spirit we can reveal our most magnificent creative self. Nancy's creativity and passion for helping children led to the creation of the first YMCA Montessori School. Nancy is also credited with being the driving force behind the Imaginarium - a workspace for the creative arts, and for the creation of the "Community Happiness Project" at the Kennett Square, Pennsylvania YMCA. After authoring three children's books, Nancy kicked off an initiative called Alive, which provides yoga, gardening, art, and healthy living workshops to schools and organizations in local communities. Her joyful seminars on "creativity and mindfulness" have brought new learning to so many seeking a path to greater well-being, as have her ongoing workshops in Art and Creative Writing. Nancy's love of teaching began with a M.A. degree from Loyola College and her zeal for the creative spans several mediums. Her whimsical artwork has been featured on PBS, displayed in the Miami Children's Museum, and in a permanent installation at the Delaware Children's Museum. Her other creative expressions have been in galleries, schools, and in private and corporate collections in the US and abroad. In addition to her many creative endeavors, Nancy is co-founder of the philanthropic Michael & Nancy Pia Foundation, and she has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations. Nancy resides in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania with her husband Michael, and is the mother of four children and a grandmother of seven.
