About the Author: Matts and Jeanine are lifelong sailors and boating enthusiasts. Matts has written extensively on sailing and nautical subjects and is a freelance writer for 48 NORTH, SAIL, CRUISING WORLD, and SAILING. He is the author of four other books, includingthe best seller, SAILING OUT OF RETIREMENT: LIVING THE DREAM. His other books include the nautical guide, FIXING POISITONS, and the romantic novel, THE SPINDRIFT.
In 2007, he retired from Colorado Mesa University as a Professor Emeritus of American Literature after forty-five years in education.
