About the Book

Fiery Tesji Brier is an outcast in the remote village of Tiponia. His unusual appearance makes him the bullied target of the other children, while his primal, untamed ability to manipulate the weather has turned him into an object of fear. Just as he enters adulthood, the aftermath of a perplexing prophesy sends Tesji reeling into an adventure of self-discovery. As he travels across the wild continent of Melor, he encounters some who seem to know more about his true nature than Tesji himself does, including the immortal Time Children who haunt the ruined heart of the ancient world. The secrets he discovers about himself on his path to the twisted mountains from his dreams just may save the world... or destroy it.
About the Author: Courtney Privett was born in Detroit in 1982 and raised in northeastern Michigan. She relocated to Missouri to obtain a degree in Ceramic Engineering, and now resides in California with her husband, three children, and two disobedient cats. Courtney wrote her first book, The Crystal Lattice, while still in college as a diversion from differential equations and has been obsessed ever since. She wrote the first draft of the Echoes of Oblivion trilogy in six months while working a temporary job in insurance. Echoes of Oblivion was quickly followed by Mayfly Requiem, which was written by hand over many late nights. She published her fifth book, Shadows of Absolution, in July 2012. Courtney has many interests and nearly all of them have been brought into her books. In addition to being a classically trained musician and an engineer by training, she is an avid crafter, a former hockey and soccer player, a vegan baker, an occasional world traveler, a confirmed narcoleptic, and an outdoor enthusiast. Before she was known as "Mommy", she was an exchange student to Japan, a classic rock radio deejay, and a Kappa Kappa Psi brother.
