Cultural Diversity Management kann als kulturelle Vielfalt in Organisationen verstanden werden. Das Personalkonzept beinhaltet, dass Individuen in ihrer Verschiedenartigkeit wertgeschätzt werden und durch Nutzung der vielfältigen Potenziale ein positiver Effekt für alle entsteht. Die zunehmende Komplexität der Märkte zwingt Unternehmen Rahmenbedingungen zu schaffen, die vielfältige und kreative Innovationen begünstigt. Die Global Player sind aufgrund ihrer dynamischen und heterogenen Umwelt auf eine flexible Anpassungsfähigkeit angewiesen. Aber auch innerhalb nationaler Märkte müssen sich Unternehmen auf pluralistische und individualisierte Gesellschaften einstellen. Deutsche Unternehmen machen bereits Milliardenumsätze im Ausland und werden durch zunehmende Internationalisierungsbestrebungen mit noch größerer kultureller Vielfalt konfrontiert sein. Als Musterbeispiel wäre Siemens zu nennen, welches ca. 80 % seines Umsatzes im Ausland erwirtschaftet. Die englischsprachigen Länder verlieren durch aufstrebende Ländern wie Indien und v.a. China ihre wirtschaftliche Dominanz. Die Absatz- und Beschaffungsmärkte werden somit noch vielfältiger. Sprach- und Kulturkompetenzen erlangen dadurch einen immer größer werdenden Stellenwert. Sie sind vielen Migranten bereits in die Wiege gelegt, werden aber nicht genutzt und verkümmern. Das Diversity Management bietet sich hier als interessantes Instrument, um die marktorientierten Bedürfnisse der Unternehmen mit den vielfältigen Qualifikationen seiner Mitarbeiter/ Innen zu verbinden.
