Dad's Funeral a eulogy of sorts
My Father, Peter Gunner, or as we affectionately all knew him, 'Big Pete, ' or colloquially, 'the old man' was a man who embraced life and never wanted it to end. Dad fought like hell to stay with us for as long as he could. But with his mind still firing on all the cylinders of a V8 engine, Dad's body finally gave out. Dad left us on the 23rd, of March 2013 and not a day goes by where we don't miss him or remember him.
Dad was such a force of nature, creating his own destiny and a history all of his own making. Partly truth and partly fiction, Dad wrote his life story through us, with us and off all the walls, trees, dirt tracks and roads that just happened to be standing in his way.
Dad's Funeral, A Eulogy of Sorts, is a small attempt by one of his many children to display his admiration for his father, and that would be me. His fifth child born, and quasi middle child, that just happened to be privileged enough to have known the great man and have worked alongside him, our dad, Big Pete.
These yarns and stories are just the tip of the iceberg, of life with Dad and with us all, as a family. Every sibling has their own favourite stories of Dad and the Gunner family held close to their hearts.
