In our modern, fast-paced lifestyle, our responsibilities take up the majority of our precious time, condemning us to being apart from our loved ones. When you only pass each other in the mornings, when you are travelling around on business, or when you simply don't have the time to even talk about everyday things or to support each other, you can write a Daily Letter. A dialogue compiled in this way will not only reassure you when you are separated, but it can also add variety to your life. Leave it on the fridge, pack it in a bagged lunch, send a photo from your smartphone, or simply deliver it in person. A handwritten note can be a special comfort for you.
A Daily Letter is a throwback to the times when long-distance communication was only possible with the written word. A handwritten letter has always brought with it emotions and a piece of the writer's soul as well as its content. To help you communicate with each other this way, we've written a few simple, yet important, questions. Treat them as if you were asking each other these questions.
How to do it:
1. Take out a sheet of paper.
2. Fill in the date, the time, and the place.
3. Answer the questions sincerely - try to write in full sentences.
4. Sign the sheet of paper - now it becomes a letter.
5. Give each other your letters: you can deliver them in person, send them through the mail, pack them with a lunch, hang them on the fridge or a mirror, or you can take a picture and send it by smartphone.
6. Read your letters when you're alone.
7.Do this every day, whenever you are apart, or when you simply want to send a message by mail.
This simple ritual is effective at strengthening and adding diversity to your relationship.
Psychologists opinion:
"A Daily Letter is a great tool for strengthening bonds or repairing relationships. It can also be helpful in family or marriage counselling."
