Like the most beautiful flowers they are everywhere in the Konjo ( Beautiful) Kingdom water girls join the flowers in the hills, grow up in the Highland, mountains, and walk the road for miles to get fresh water from the new water well. Many of the girls are taken along the way, to become child brides, Dovawit was one of them. She dreamed of finishing school, living in the capital city, being one of the beautiful Ethiopian models she watched modeling in beautiful dresses in the long wild grass on the Africa hillside where she lived with her father a coffee bean worker on the coffee bean farm. She was always greeted with sunflowers by the boys playing on the road because she was the most beautiful of all the water girls. She was promised by her father he would never make her a child bride. But it happened, on this day, Dove was told she was married while she slept. She arrived to the water well where she was greeted by Yobiro her new husband. She stood holding her hand to her heart from fear. Dove had dreams to be more than just her father's faithful water girl. But now her greatest fear had come true. She was a bride, another child bride. She was married to her father's rich friend, a retired poacher, who wanted her heart to be promised to him since she was a small child. She had already told her father she promised herself and her cat named Lion she would not get married till she finished school and reached her goal. her plan was to runaway to the city and make it on her own. Yobiro and his ex-poacher's friends acted as if they read her thoughts. His poacher friends argued with him and told him to start beating her to keep her from running away. When the poacher revealed he couldn't, his friends hated her for weakening the great hunter. They blame her beauty for being the cause for his confusion. They decided to beat her with sticks for him. They also beat her cat, Lion who hissed at them and ran them off, as he bit and scratched them. finally Lion was struck hard and cried out in pain. Now Yobiro was angry and hit her. He was also broken embarrassed she acted like she didn't appreciate what he had paid for her to help her father who need money. But her cat Lion had friends from when he was a kitten. His friends also lives on their mountain in the hill of The Konjo Kingdom. His always listened for him, stiffed out his trail on the road and watched him at play with Dove. His friend were always stalking him in the bush. Lying in the grass crying out, they heard him, and came down the mountain side to the rescue. Lion's friends were the legendary Pride. A mysterious family of lions, that were thought to be more folklore than real life lions. They had never actually been seen in daylight. poachers and the ride of lions meet face to face. After a furious battle Dove and Lion are rescued and the poachers are gone for good. Dove is free to head back home. The story of the pride of lions that saved the water girl and her cat spread to the city and across the hills. The traditions of men to make girls Child brides was never practiced again in The Konjo Kingdom from that day forward. Dove danced in the sunflowers with the rest of the hundreds of girls to celebrate their liberty. . Whenever the lions heard her cat in roaring like he was a lion, the lions came out of their caves and roared back as warning. Water girls lived out their dreams in the hills, to fulfill to get an education and marry a man they truly love, with celebration and dancing in the glory of the sunflowers growing up in the beautiful kingdom.
